Foundation Course

MSP® (Managing Successful Programmes) provides the definitive guidance for setting up and delivering transformational programmes. It extends beyond focusing on managing a series of projects and provides guidance on how to set visions, describe the future, manage stakeholders, and realise benefits.

Learning Outcomes

At the completion of the Foundation course, you will learn:

  • Understand MSP’s integrated elements of Principles, Themes and Processes along with their relationships, building on your own experience and knowledge of change.
  • Understand the benefits thread through MSP that ensures that the entire programme is predicated and focused on the realisation of benefits.
  • Understand how MSP could be applied in real-life situations and test this out in a supportive training environment.
  • Understand the Principles, or good practices underpinning every programme.
  • Understand the Themes, or guidance on critical aspects of programme management, including Organisation, Design, Justification, Structure, Knowledge, Assurance and Decisions.
  • Understand the Processes (MSP’s programme lifecycle), which includes identifying a programme, designing the outcomes, plan progressive delivery, deliver the capabilities, embed the outcomes, evaluate new information and close the programme.
  • Be well prepared for the Foundation Exam.

The sessions are a mixture of theory and discussion and practical group-based learning involving Post-It notes, markers, flip chart paper.
