This self-led eLearning course is designed to enhance your skills at your own pace while delivering expert written content and practical knowledge. This option also includes up to 4 hours online with one of our qualified trainers.

The P3O model, developed by the UK Government aligns with PRINCE2® and MSP®. It provides the structure, governance, and services needed for a balanced portfolio of change and consistent program/project delivery across an organisation. The model can take various forms, from a comprehensive office to a combination of a permanent Portfolio Office with temporary Programme/Project Offices.  These supporting P3O “offices” provide a supporting role across the organisation.

There is no “one size fits all” approach; in large organizations, a more complex model may be suitable, while in smaller ones, it might be a single individual acting as a multi-tasking P3O officer.

This training provides you with a range of options and considerations which allows you to implement an approach which is right for the size and shape of your organisation.

Learning Outcomes

At the completion of the Combined course, you will learn:

  • Assess and Select P3O Models: Determine the most suitable P3O model for your organization’s strategic objectives and analyze different models for alignment.
  • Value and Functionality: Learn to assess the value a P3O provides, identify its functions and services, and understand the associated roles and responsibilities.
  • Application of Techniques: Practice strategic analysis and portfolio modelling techniques and apply P3O methodologies to real-world scenarios.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Implementation: Develop strategies for stakeholder engagement and create actionable plans for establishing or revitalizing a P3O.
  • Performance Measurement and Improvement: Establish metrics to measure success, understand the P3O business case in relation to the P3M3 Maturity Model, and promote continuous improvement using feedback.
  • Be well prepared for the Foundation and Practitioner exam
