Practitioner Course

The P3O model, developed by the UK Government aligns with PRINCE2® and MSP®. It provides the structure, governance, and services needed for a balanced portfolio of change and consistent program/project delivery across an organisation. The model can take various forms, from a comprehensive office to a combination of a permanent Portfolio Office with temporary Programme/Project Offices.  These supporting P3O “offices” provide a supporting role across the organisation.

There is no “one size fits all” approach; in large organizations, a more complex model may be suitable, while in smaller ones, it might be a single individual acting as a multi-tasking P3O officer.

This training provides you with a range of options and considerations which allows you to implement an approach which is right for the size and shape of your organisation.

P3O® (Portfolio Programme and Project Offices) Practitioner Details

This session is a mixture of theory and discussion and practical group-based learning involving post-it notes, markers, flip chart paper. An easy to understand and practical case study is used throughout the course. No laptops are required, all learning resources are supplied.

To sit the Practitioner exam candidates must have passed the Foundation exam.

2 days for Practitioner (14 hours) – Typically 8:30 am for an 8:45 am start and a 5:00 pm finish with 1 hour for lunch and short morning and afternoon tea breaks. In addition, we suggest at least 10 hours of pre-course work and there is 1-2 hours of homework each night.

Once you register for the course you are sent the “P3O®” manual, pre-course exercises and the P3O® Desk Reference. At the course, you are given a course folder that contains copies of all the slides, extensive notes, exam practice, exercises, and sample exams from PeopleCert.
